A Private Sphere

"Private sphere in sociology refers to a particular sector of societal life, whereby individuals enjoy a great degree of autonomy, unperturbed by influences and interventions of external agencies and/or institutions. This is the complement or opposite of the public sphere, where people come together to discuss and debate societal issues."
